12 hours left to Legend-time… HTC Legend precisly! Some days ago I decided to get rid of my Windows Mobile-driven phone, the HTC Touch Pro (a.k.a. T-Mobile MDA Vario IV in Germany). To be honest, the problem for sure is not the phone hardware itself – in fact I like the sliding-out hardware keyboard – but the operating system: Windows Mobile.
Factory-default of the HTC Touch Pro was Windows Mobile v6.1 with additional finger-friendly HTC TouchFLO 3D technology, customized by T-Mobile to match their corporate identity color. This user interface, which hides the standard Windows Mobile UI, is the only software element that can be used without the stylus. It is exactly this fact and the sometimes more than slow usability that annoy me the most. Even an update to Windows Mobile v6.5 didn’t really saitsfy my desire for an easy to use smartphone. If your colleagues with their Apple iPhones are sliding smoothly from one screen to the next barely touching the screen surface at all (say Hello to capacitive touchscreens!) and you by yourself are fighting against the self-will of the resistive one (ever tried to scroll through a contact list with more than 400 items withou accidently selecting one of them?) really increases your inclination towards aggression.
Final solution: I need a new phone! Descision was made for the benefit of the HTC Legend, a brand new Android-based smartphone. According to recent reviews this one and of course even more its “big brother” HTC Desire are real competitors to Apple’s iPhone series.
Long story short: DHL will deliver the packet on Saturday morning… forgive them god if not!!
Update:
10 o’clock on Saturday morning… no delivery so far. Damn! [superemotions file="icon_evil.gif" title="Evil"]
Update 2:
Phone arrived on Monday morning… whole weekend for playing around with that thing lost. Shame on DHL!
